Currently FileKit sets a single password that restricts opening the PDF. For separate owner/user password control, you would need a desktop tool like Adobe Acrobat.

What happens if I forget the password?

There is no way to recover the password. FileKit does not store your password anywhere. Make sure to keep it in a safe place.

Does my password leave my device?

No. The encryption happens entirely in your browser. Your password and file are never transmitted to any server.
